Serve with Solar Oven Partners to distribute ovens and teach the benefits of cooking with solar. Travel to one of our distribution sites and work side-by-side with our oven recipients to assemble ovens and prepare food.

It is UMVIM’s hope that a mission journey will help you find other ministries in your community. It can be a feeding program, serving in a food and clothing banks, helping in a homeless shelter, working with children in school, after school, or in a preschool. What does your community need? Doing VIM trips becomes investments in mission especially in its task of decolonizing mission. John Wesley once said, “The world is my parish.” All VIM trips that our California Nevada Conference is sending are witness to the call of our common mission that is, “Make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world.” Please pray for empowerment to all our missionaries.

We are going to highlight sites, some new, some who are favorites internationally and in the US to show you the good work these sites are doing and how you can help.

Our hearts are filled with gratitude for the opportunity to play a small part in God's grand design. For truly, it is in service to others that we find our greatest joy and fulfillment.

Los Gatos UMC’s involvement in Punta Colonet has taken place over 24 years. And what a lasting impact we’ve had there!

This year marked a significant chapter in the ongoing story of spiritual and communal outreach, as The United Methodist Church conducted its 2024 mission trip to Kyrgyzstan. The mission, deeply rooted in a decade-long tradition, continued to fortify the ties between various communities under the United Methodist banner and foster a unique blend of cultural and religious unity.

Churches found that you can still be in mission while providing food to those in need, helping shut ins get the care they needed and providing emotional support in so many creative ways in their community! Now in 2024, we are seeing more teams going out nationally and globally much like we did in early 2020.
